Government of Man Gone Mad

I doubt many Americans will remember much about the Government of Man. For some it will bring back memories of history class in high school but still be a rather vague term.

Throughout history, regardless of the continent, there have been conflicts and wars. Out of these we see time and time again the evolution of some kind of authority structure or government mechanism to set up and maintain social order.

There is plenty of evidence to support man's desire and need, regardless of the culture, for some form of governmental structure. This has always been inherent in the human spirit and is also a manifestation of the God-given mandate given to mankind.

Simply put, man was designed to be a governor and ruler, and as a result it's his nature to seek some form of authority to bring order to his world. In this context government is not only desirable but necessary.

I believe it's time we rediscover what makes America great. I don't believe in luck or coincidence when it comes to nations. There has to be more to it than that. Put aside the biased teachings from elementary school and let's explore together.

WHAT IS BEHIND AMERICA'S GREATNESS?

Why has no other nation held such a level of status and degree of influence in world affairs? Why has the USA seemingly been the only country that citizens from other nations have risked their lives to flock to for their only chance to create a better life for their families and escape hopelessness? What makes it so unique in this respect? What other country has done more to carry the greatest message of hope, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, through its church based missionaries, to so many peoples? What other country has liberated so many others from tyranny? Has the United States fulfilled the message of Jesus found in the Gospel?

"And this Gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations..."(Matt. 24:14)

In spite of all its faults, American society, and the American government has arguably been a source of tremendous blessing to the world.

Could any other nation have accomplished so much apart from the favor of their God?

WAS THE UNITED STATES ORDAINED BY GOD WITH A DIVINE PURPOSE?

The institution of the American government, as strange as it may seem, is worth considering in light of recent developments since the 2008 elections. We are now seeing a rapid decline of the influence the USA has around the world, for better or worse.

The fact that the United States is a democratic republic does not diminish the reality that American society, beliefs and governing system has done more to impact and influence day to day lives of people around the world much like that of a modern day kingdom.

The question to be answered is whether this American government is totally out of control or does God still have a say. If the United States is totally void of God's voice and presence then what does the future hold?

An analysis of ongoing government affairs, it's current economic condition and American society would seem to indicate that this supposedly great nation has expelled God and as a result has been forsaken by the God of the bible mentioned on their currency.

HAS GOD INFLUENCED THE AMERICAN GOVERNMENT AND ITS SOCIETY?

Can this proud nation, and the American government, continue to proclaim "God bless America" when each year we observe that God is excluded more and more from its daily affairs?

Is God even involved any longer with the affairs of this nation? Can we look back over time and see any evidence that he ever was? There is ample evidence to support the claim that the greatest nations in history (United States and Great Britain) reached their pinnacle while God occupied a primary place in the hearts and minds of the people and its government. It can also be shown that their downfall was precluded by the abandonment of God and his laws, precepts and commandments. This is the truth behind what makes America great.

HAS WHAT MAKES AMERICA GREAT BEEN A FORCE FOR GOOD AROUND THE WORLD?

If the United States and its leaders continue on its present course and allow its presence from the world stage as a force for good and its role as the peoples champion for liberty and justice to diminish then I believe what makes America great will not be on display and darker days are on the horizon for our planet.
